For most, boiler installations aren’t a regular occurrence, which is why it can be a little bit of a minefield. We at Woodhouse HQ are here to answer some of our frequently asked questions to help you on your way with your next boiler installation.
Generally speaking, a boiler has a lifespan of approximately 10-15 years, however, it may last longer with good care. Having your boiler serviced can help to improve the lifespan of your boiler and help to prevent costly fixes.
How does it work?
There are a few different ways in which boiler installations can be completed depending on whether the installation is brand new, and the type of boiler being installed. However, there are three basic steps that each process will follow.
- Removing your old boiler:
Before your heating engineer can install your new boiler, the old one will need to be carefully removed. Ensuring that the space around your boiler is clear will make the installation process quicker, easier and safer for our engineers.
In some cases, our engineer may need to remove some old pipework or radiators before installing the new boiler.
- New boiler installation:
This part is usually a lot quicker than you think, especially if the new boiler is similar to the old one that was removed.
After completing the installation and checking everything is in good working order, you’re good to go!
- Product tour:
Once set up, our engineer will talk you through the new boiler and its functionality. Educating our customers on how to use their new heating system efficiently, helping you to save money and the environment. If you have any questions, it’s best to ask them here.
A full boiler installation usually takes between 1 to 3 days to complete depending on the complexity of the installation.
How often should I get my boiler serviced?
Although your boiler may not be experiencing issues, it’s best to get it serviced once a year. We recommend investing in a planned maintenance consultation with us as this could help to highlight issues before they become urgent and prevent expensive costs. By booking yearly maintenance with us our heating engineers can help keep your boiler running more efficiently and prolong the lifespan of your heating system – saving you money in the long run.
